All in all, Rogue Lords is delightful.The first roguelike in which you play as the devil, which means you can change some of the game’s rules to your advantage! Run after run, manage your team of famous evil geniuses as they encounter unforeseen events and turn-based combat. However, considering that most of the game is made up of turn-based events, it does remain a backwater problem. Minor issues come from Moving around the world outside of combat - the control schematics are more troubling than they need to be. While Rogue Lords looks and feels beautiful - it does find some nuisances in gameplay. There's a grand sense of satisfaction will each combat event, not being repetitive and feeling rewarding when you win. Each has strengths and weaknesses that combine to overcome the more challenging battles. You'll be able to choose between 9-characters to make up a 3-person battle team. Not only that, the encouragement for players to take the reigns on their progression feels good, too. Why? The fluidity of the game feels refreshing compared to others. So what's the advantage of playing this game over others in the genre? The truth of the matter is that Rogue Lords just hits a little differently. It looks beautiful, the turn-based battle system is excellent, and the evil narrative is intriguing. Rogue Lords offers everything that a typical roguelike says on the tin. Not to mention a linear narrative to the walkthrough! That paired with the potential to craft some stunning visuals, fluid animations, and supercharge your battle skills without too much pressure. Perhaps it's because of its mechanical versatility on nearly every playable device. The roguelike genre has become increasingly popular over the last few years.
